This week marks a truly historic moment for Matthew’s House and our city — the Greenhill Gardens project has officially begun!
What started as a dream eight years ago is now becoming a reality.
With the incredible support of the fantastic Nick and the NP Landscaping team, alongside our experienced archaeologists and professional advisors, we are off to a brilliant start. Early work has uncovered some fascinating finds, which are being handled with the utmost care and sensitivity. Every step is being recorded under the supervision of our on-site archaeological team.
Thanks to the skill, passion, and hard work of everyone involved, we are well underway — and the transformation of this historic site into a community heritage greenspace is in full swing!
As part of managing safety on site, some access and path changes have been necessary, but we are a GO and making amazing progress every day.
If you’d like to find out more about the project, follow our journey, or get involved in supporting Greenhill Gardens, we would love to hear from you!

We’ll continue to share updates as the work unfolds, and once complete, we’ll be proudly publishing our full archaeological reports and project documentation.
All works have been carefully agreed with Church in Wales Faculty Permissions, Swansea Council Listed Buildings and Planning departments, and supported by Welsh Government CADW and other professional bodies.
What was once just a dream is today a living, breathing reality — and we can’t wait for you to see it grow. 🌱
Stay tuned!
