From Christmas Day meals and emergency support to long term partnership and friendship, Theo’s continue to stand alongside some of Swansea’s most vulnerable people.
A Swansea business that has quietly and consistently supported vulnerable people across the city for years is now taking another powerful step towards long term community impact.
Theo’s Kebab & Fish Bar have announced plans to transition into a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.), formally building community support and social impact into the future of the business.
As part of this process, Theo’s shared with Matthew’s House that they intend to include both Matthew’s House and Crisis Swansea within their formal Asset Lock agreement. This means that if the business were ever to close in the future, remaining assets would continue supporting people in Swansea through causes close to their heart.
For the Matthew’s House team, the announcement was deeply moving.
Theo’s have supported Matthew’s House in countless ways over the years. From food donations and Christmas Day support to volunteer events, collections and practical help throughout the year, they have become far more than supporters. They have become genuine friends of the project.
Their generosity has helped support some of the most vulnerable people in Swansea during difficult seasons, while also encouraging and strengthening the volunteer family behind the scenes.
Matthew’s House Project Leader Thom Lynch said:
“Theo’s have been incredible supporters of Matthew’s House for years now. Their kindness, consistency and heart for Swansea has been amazing. They are the kind of people who quietly get on with helping others and making a difference. We are genuinely so thankful for them.”
The relationship is another example of local businesses and community projects working together to create long term change across Swansea.
Matthew’s House continues to encourage businesses, organisations and individuals to become Friends of Matthew’s House through regular support, volunteering, collections and partnership.
