🌟 Horton Hullabaloo 2025 – A Day to Remember 🎶💛

What. A. Day.

The sun was shining, the cakes were flowing, the music was pumping… and the hearts were so full at this year’s Horton Hullabaloo – a mini festival with a massive soul, right in the heart of the Gower.

This year, we were so honoured to once again be chosen as one of the charities supported by the incredible Hullabaloo Band and Horton community – alongside our friends at the Samaritans. But what happened on the day went way beyond what we could have dreamed!

Our very own Matt’s House Community Choir kicked off the vibes with a 45-minute set, and quite frankly — they smashed it! The crowd danced, clapped, and soaked in every note. It was their best gig yet, and the smiles from the stage said it all. 💃🎤👏

Then, after a series of lush performances from other fantastic local bands, the legendary Hullabaloo Band took to the stage as headliners — and guess what? Our choir weren’t done yet! They were invited back on for four powerful joint songs, lifting the energy to new heights and bringing the entire field to life.

To top it all off, our amazing choir leader Amanda, who truly lives for the vibes, stayed on stage and joined Hullabaloo for the rest of the set — dancing, singing, and adding her sparkle to an already unforgettable show. ✨

And the best news? Over £3,000 was raised for Matthew’s House, with other funds going to the Samaritans too. 🙌 That support goes directly into providing hot meals, hygiene packs, safe spaces and listening ears to people who need them most in our city.

But it wasn’t just about the money.

We had volunteers, guests, Hill Church family members, and supporters all there, soaking up a perfect day filled with music, friendship, family, food, and a whole lot of joy. These are the kinds of days that remind us why we do what we do.

Thom (Project Leader) and Amanda (Choir Leader) took a moment at the end to reflect — on the power of music to connect us, the kindness of strangers becoming friends, and the deep gratitude we have for Jon, the Hullabaloo Band, and Jon’s wonderful mum (who seriously outdid herself with the cakes! 🍰 We may or may not have gone back for seconds… and thirds!).

The belief this community has shown in us over the last couple of year — in what Matthew’s House stands for — means the world. It’s not just about the funds raised (though they are a blessing), it’s about sharing the vision. Lifting the lid on what we do. Inviting others to be part of it.

To the Hullabaloo Band, the Horton community, our stunning choir, our cheering volunteers, and every single person who danced, clapped, sang, donated, or smiled with us that day — we are so thankful.

This was more than a festival.
This was Hospitality and Hope in action.

💛 With full hearts,
The Matthew’s House Team
