Swansea Half Marathon 2025 – Powered by Heart, Hope, and 25 Amazing Runners!
On Sunday 8th June 2025, the biggest team we’ve ever assembled took to the sun-soaked streets of Swansea to represent Matthew’s House at the Swansea Half Marathon — and they smashed it in every possible way!
With runners, fundraisers, cheerleaders, and a whole community behind them, our team raised a breath-taking total of £4,603.51 (and even more with gift aid, reaching over £4,931.89)! 🤩
But this wasn’t just about numbers — it was about personal milestones, brave steps, and sincere moments of connection and commitment. From those chasing personal bests to first-time runners tackling the challenge head-on, every single person brought heart and purpose to every mile.

🥣 Where the Money Goes
Summer can be a tough time for donations — but this amazing effort means we can:

Replenish our food stocks during the quieter months

Continue providing showers, dignity packs, and laundry services to those who need it
- Listen and be there for our guests, ready to help people get back up when they’ve fallen and stand with them in the challenges
- Encourage, support and train our volunteers and they grow with us

And even take steps toward installing an electric charging point for our collection van, helping us deliver more hope, more efficiently

Over the past 8 years, Matthew’s House has:

Served over 220,000 meals

Delivered 7,000+ dignity packs

Held over 1,000 buddy meetings

Seen 148 volunteers give over 104,000 hours of love and care

Launched and grown Matt’s Café, Showers, Laundry, Choir, and the Hope in Swansea app (now with over 170 local services listed)
Every step our runners took on that Sunday helped carry this legacy forward.
