Mark’s First Triathlon at 63 — All for Matthew’s House 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

On 24th May 2026, one of our very own volunteers, Mark, will take on something he never imagined — his first-ever triathlon… at age 63!

The challenge? The Swansea Sprint Triathlon:

  • 750M swim 🏊‍♂️

  • 20K bike ride 🚴‍♂️

  • 5K run 🏃‍♂️

Mark and his family have been friends and supporters of Matthew’s House for years. Over the last year, Mark has become an integral part of our volunteer team, giving his time, energy, and heart to serving our guests. Now, he’s going a step further — pushing himself to new limits to raise funds and awareness for the place he loves.

Why Mark is doing this
Matthew’s House is a safe, welcoming space in Swansea that provides unconditional hospitality to those most in need — from people facing homelessness, mental health struggles, and addiction, to those simply in need of a warm meal and a kind word.
Through Matt’s Café, we turn food waste into more than 2,000 meals each month. We distribute over 100 dignity packs monthly, offer showers, laundry, and 1:1 support — all powered by over 150 dedicated volunteers like Mark.

Mark said:

“It’s a massive personal challenge both physically and mentally – but I’m doing it for a cause that has a big impact. Every pound donated will help Matthew’s House continue their amazing work. Please help make every stroke, pedal, and step count!”

How you can help 🙌
Mark would love your encouragement — whether that’s a donation or a message to cheer him on. Every pound raised will go directly to Matthew’s House to help us continue providing food, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
