Every once in a while, a partnership comes along that feels more like family than formality. That’s exactly what we’ve found in Steve Tanner and the team at Swansea Home Improvements — long-time friends and supporters of Matthew’s House who have stood by us since our very beginning.
Steve and his family-run business have poured love, time, and craftsmanship into our work over the years. From installing new units in our laundry and hospitality spaces to rolling up their sleeves and volunteering at events, Steve has given hundreds of hours to make Matthew’s House stronger and more welcoming.
He’s also been a passionate fundraiser — rallying his staff, friends, and customers to get behind the mission of providing hospitality and hope in the heart of Swansea. For us, he’s not just a supporter, but part of the Matthew’s House story.
And this Christmas, the team are doing something truly special again. Swansea Home Improvements have set a goal to raise £2,025 for Matthew’s House to help cover the costs of Christmas lunch and goodie bags for everyone who joins us during the festive season — often one of the hardest times of the year for those who are struggling or alone.
But that’s not all. If they can reach 1,000 new Facebook followers by 5th December, they’ll top up their donation by another £1,000 — making a total of £3,025! That extra boost will go a long way in helping us make sure everyone has a warm meal, a friendly face, and a reason to smile this Christmas.
How you can help
It couldn’t be easier to get involved:
-
Like and follow their page
-
Tag your friends, family, or co-workers to do the same
Every new follower adds £1 to the total donation and enters you into a £100 Heart of Swansea Gift Card prize draw.
It’s a simple act that could make a huge difference — and that’s exactly what Steve and his team are all about.
A partnership built on heart
Partnerships like this one remind us that generosity doesn’t always start in grand gestures — it starts in the heart. Steve, Jon, and the whole Swansea Home Improvements family continue to show what it means to serve the city with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
From everyone at Matthew’s House, a huge thank you for your ongoing love, support, and belief in what we do.
