A Small Van Load… and a Huge Amount of Gratitude
Our volunteers were out again this week for a dignity pack collection day — and what a day it was. A small van load of essential items came in, and every single bottle, packet and product will go directly into the dignity packs we prepare for:
• guests at Matthew’s House
• local hostels
• Swansea Women’s Aid
• and multiple support services across the city
But the real story isn’t the van.
It’s the people who stood outside for hours in freezing temperatures, smiling, encouraging, inviting conversation and asking our community for help. They are the true heroes of the day.
Their feet were cold, but their hearts were full — and because of them, many people in Swansea will feel cared for, seen and supported in the weeks ahead.
And of course, none of this would matter without the generous people who stopped.
People who listened.
People who asked questions.
People who gave what they could.
To everyone who donated, big or small, thank you for responding with kindness.
To the volunteers who gave their time, energy and warmth on a cold day, thank you for showing what hospitality in action truly looks like.
This is Swansea at its best.
This is community.
This is hope being built, one dignity pack at a time.
