Seven Years of Christmas Kindness: A Huge Thank You to Gary and the Celtic Mowers Family

Every Christmas at Matthew’s House is made more special because of people who choose to give generously. For the past seven years, one of the most consistent and heartfelt examples of this kindness has come from Gary, his family and the team at Celtic Mowers on Fabian Way. Their continued support has become a treasured part of our Christmas story.

Each year, Gary and his family arrive with a heavy load of donations that help us create a joyful, dignified and hope filled Christmas for our guests. Their gifts have ranged from toys and games, to food hampers, turkeys, pigs in blankets, fresh produce, treats, gift bags and thoughtful presents for those who join us on Christmas Day. Their generosity has helped hundreds of people feel seen, valued and celebrated at a time of year that can be difficult for many.

This year, as our need for Christmas meat grew, Gary stepped in once again without hesitation. He and his friends provided seven large beef joints and big turkey crowns, ensuring we could serve a beautiful Christmas meal to everyone who walks through our doors. This support carries a huge weight and makes an enormous difference to the work we do.

Gary visited the team at Matthew’s House earlier this week, bringing the donations in person to Thom and Emily, along with friends from The King Arthur Hotel, who were also eager to be part of the impact. Their visit was full of warmth, laughter and a shared desire to see hope flourish in Swansea.

We want to express our deepest thanks to Gary, his family, his team at Celtic Mowers and their wider community of supporters. Their ongoing heart for Matthew’s House is more than generosity. It is friendship, consistency and belief in our mission to provide hospitality and hope to those who need it most.

After seven years of faithful support at Christmas, we remain humbled and inspired by their kindness.
Thank you for standing with us, for caring about our guests and for helping us create a Christmas that is full of dignity and joy.
