A Compassionate Leader, Faithful Volunteer and Trusted Friend of the Project Steps into a New Season
At Matthew’s House, leadership has never been about titles.
It has always been about people.
People who care deeply, serve faithfully, and consistently put others first. People who champion our values, protect our culture, and help ensure Matthew’s House remains a place of hospitality and hope for everyone who walks through our doors.
That is why we are absolutely delighted to welcome Deb Fellows to the Matthew’s House Swansea Leadership Team.
Many people across the Matthew’s House family will already know Deb. She has been part of the journey for many years, supporting volunteers, encouraging guests, and quietly serving wherever needed. She has become one of those people who helps make Matthew’s House feel like home.
What stands out most about Deb is her compassion.
Time and time again, she has shown an incredible ability to care for people, listen well, and walk alongside others through difficult moments. Even when life has brought challenges of her own, she continues to put others first, offering kindness, encouragement and support to those around her.
Her heart for people reflects so much of what Matthew’s House is all about.
Alongside her involvement with Matthew’s House, Deb has faithfully served as a Life Group Leader at The Hill Church, helping create spaces where people can belong, grow and be supported. Her wisdom, experience and genuine love for people have already impacted many lives.
As Matthew’s House continues to grow, we know how important it is to have leadership that not only understands the practical side of the project, but also carries the heart behind it. Leadership that protects our values, champions dignity, and helps us continue serving people with compassion.
Deb brings exactly that.
She now joins Grant Winter, Dawn Bishop and Thom Lynch as part of the Matthew’s House Leadership Team, helping guide the project into its next season. Together, the team remains committed to stewarding Matthew’s House well, caring for the staff and volunteer family, and ensuring the project continues to be a place where nobody is forgotten, especially those who need support most.
At a time when Matthew’s House is supporting more people than ever, welcoming new volunteers, growing partnerships, and continuing to develop projects such as Hope Hall, Matt’s Community Choir, Greenhill Gardens, Matt’s Buddies and Hope in Swansea, strong and compassionate leadership has never been more important.
We are genuinely excited about this next chapter and incredibly thankful that Deb has said yes to joining the team.
Thank you, Deb, for your years of faithful service, your compassionate heart, and your commitment to people.
We are honoured to have you alongside us as we continue this journey together.
Welcome to the team, Deb. 💛
