We were delighted to welcome Encon Construction Limited to Matthew’s House in November, after they chose to support us as part of their ongoing community commitment while working on a local affordable housing and commercial build at Kings Lane Corner with Beacon Cymru Group.
Their generous donation came at a crucial time as we head into the colder months, a season when more people than ever seek warmth, food and vital support through our doors. Encon shared a lovely post on LinkedIn recognising the work of Matthew’s House and highlighting why they wanted to get involved. You can read their post here:

Encon wrote about the services Matthew’s House provides including Matt’s Café home cooked meals through our pay what you can system, laundry and shower facilities, emergency items, dignity packs filled with essentials and our growing hub of onsite support services that walk alongside our guests. Their words reflect a thoughtful understanding of our mission and the heart behind what we do.
Their support will make a meaningful difference during this busy winter period, helping us ensure we have the resources needed to provide hospitality and hope to those who need it most. We are truly grateful for their kindness and the intention behind it.
We also want to thank Thom and Becci for welcoming the Encon team and sharing more about the work taking place at Matthew’s House. Building genuine partnerships like these strengthens our ability to serve the city well.
