We are proud to announce that the comprehensive final evaluation report for the Greenhill Gardens Heritage Project has now been completed and submitted to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This full report captures the heart of the project, from initial dreams to muddy setbacks, from forgotten graves to children’s joyful footsteps on our heritage trail. It honours every volunteer, story, partnership, and learning curve that helped turn an abandoned city centre graveyard into a public greenspace of memory, meaning, and connection.

This comprehensive report includes photographs, site plans, trench layouts, maps of underground features, discoveries made during the excavation, and the full watching brief carried out throughout the construction and landscaping phases. It’s a fascinating look beneath the surface — literally — and adds vital context to the preservation and respectful transformation of this once-forgotten space.
