Food and Friendship: Updated Citywide Support Poster Released

At Matthew’s House, we’ve always believed that food is more than a meal, it is a gateway to friendship, honesty, and hope. When someone sits down with a warm plate in front of them, walls come down, conversations open up, and the deeper struggles of life begin to surface.

That’s why our Food and Friendship poster matters so much. It brings together the support services across Swansea who offer not only a meal, but connection, dignity, and a place to be seen.

Today, we’re excited to release the latest updated version a clear, simple guide showing which organisations are offering food and friendship each day of the week, along with the times and locations of the support services who stand with us in this mission.

Standing in the Gap Together

It is a privilege to work alongside so many local services who share the same heart:
to care for those who are vulnerable, isolated, or struggling, and to do it with warmth, respect, and hope.

These partners are out there on the front line with us, helping us bridge the gap between those who need help and the incredible organisations ready to provide it.

Every conversation, every shared meal, every listening ear makes a difference.

A Changing Landscape and a Strong Core

For many years, Swansea had support running every single day of the week.
More recently, some services have faced funding challenges, volunteer shortages, or had to rethink their operations, and a few have had to close.

Even so, our city remains resilient.

Right now, we have six full days covered, with just one day left to fill.
This is still a remarkable achievement, and one we’re determined to build on.

We update the Food and Friendship poster whenever needed and run checks throughout the year to keep the information accurate. Because for someone who is struggling, knowing where to go that day can make all the difference.

Help Us Complete the Week

We’re calling out to our community:

Do you know of a support service running on Saturdays that provides food and friendship to those in need?
Please get in touch, we’d love to add them and make this resource even stronger.

And if you are part of a group, church, community organisation, business, or team who would like to set something up,
we would love to chat.
Sometimes all it takes is a warm space, a kettle, and a handful of people with compassionate hearts.

Thank You

A heartfelt thank you to every support service, charity, community project, volunteer team, and partner who makes this poster possible.
Your commitment helps ensure that no one in Swansea is left without somewhere to go.

Food and friendship save lives, and together, we continue to make sure people can find both.
