Some stories don’t need fanfare — they just need to be told.
We’ve walked alongside this guest for a long time. Her journey has been anything but easy — she’s faced domestic abuse, poverty, and some deeply tough moments. Some days we were able to help in big ways, and on others, all we could offer was a safe space, a warm meal, or a kind word — but she kept coming back. And we kept showing up.
Over time, a relationship grew. Not perfect, but real. Honest. Human.
Then, one sunny day in 2025, she walked back through the doors of Matthew’s House — this time with a bounce in her step and the biggest smile across her face.
She spotted a volunteer she’s known for years, ran straight over, and said it loud and proud:
“I’ve been offered a house!!!”
We beamed. She beamed. And then, without missing a beat, she added:
“One day you must come in for a coffee.”
Moments like that are what it’s all about. Not fixing people. Not rushing change. But being on the journey. Being available. Being real.
We couldn’t be prouder of her. And when that invite comes… you can bet we’ll be there — coffee in hand and hearts full. ☕💛
