At Matthew’s House, donations are what keep us going. Our Friends of Matthew’s House who give monthly, alongside one-off gifts and amazing fundraisers, help us continue to offer food, dignity, and hope in Swansea.
When people donate through our website, we often ask a simple question: “How did you hear about us?”
Recently, with a small donation of £25, the answer came back:
“Helped me when I needed it most.”
It reminded us of something powerful. It’s not about who gave, how much, or when. It’s about the heart behind it. That short sentence speaks volumes — that Matthew’s House was there in someone’s moment of need, and that the impact stayed with them long after.
The truth is, we don’t always see the ripple effects of what we do. We don’t always see the lives quietly being rebuilt, the encouragement that sparks a new start, or the dignity restored in a single meal or conversation. But we keep going. We stay consistent. We keep trying our best.
This little message was a reminder to us — and hopefully to you — to keep pushing. Every act of kindness matters. Every gift makes a difference. Every story counts.
💛 Thank you for helping us be here — when it matters most.
