As work continues on our Greenhill Gardens transformation, we wanted to take a moment to shine a light on the people behind the scenes — the ones keeping it safe, beautiful, and moving forward with heart.
This week, site safety checks were in full swing thanks to the brilliant team at Greenhat Consulting, who have supported our build with professionalism, care, and great advice from day one. Their guidance has been essential in helping us manage the challenges of building a major community project while still running our daily services — a balancing act that hasn’t been easy, but has absolutely been worth it.
Leading the charge on the ground is the amazing Nick and the award-winning NP Landscaping team, who have shown remarkable grace and generosity throughout the journey. Whether it’s navigating unexpected hurdles or bringing the finer details of the design to life, they’ve gone above and beyond to keep the vision on track.
And then there’s Adam. A huge part of this project’s success belongs to him. From safety walkthroughs to solving on-site dilemmas, Adam has been a constant, calm presence in the most unpredictable of weeks. He’ll be heading back home to Australia later this summer, and while we’ll miss him more than we can say, his imprint on Matthew’s House and Greenhill Gardens is lifelong. Adam — we’re so thankful for all you’ve done and all you’ve helped us become.
We’re currently around a third of the way through the build, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come. With the continued help of our funders — especially our main project funder the National Heritage Lottery Fund — generous in-kind donations, and the incredible people who keep showing up, we’re on course for a beautiful launch later this summer.
We’ve chosen the harder route — continuing to serve our guests and community while building something beautiful — and thanks to this team, it’s working.
