We have used this and you will be able to see the image and story on our reception desk when you next visit. A sad but special moment as we remember those who loved with us.
We dedicate this remembrance wall to honour two incredible souls who served at Matthew’s House with unwavering dedication and love. Roger Fellows and Sally Lynch. Both passed away suddenly in the summer of 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, humility, and joy that will forever remain in our hearts.
Roger, a true humble servant, served faithfully for eight years as both a buddy—a friendly advocate—and a member of the leadership team at Matthew’s House. His quiet strength, kindness, and humility touched everyone he met. As a trustee of Hill Church, his heart was always in service to others. Roger lived with a quiet joy that spoke louder than words, lifting those around him with his gentle presence and wisdom. His servant heart is an example we strive to follow every day.
Sally, our café leader since the very beginning, brightened Matthew’s House for six wonderful years. She brought the best meals, the warmest smiles, and the most joyous laughs to both volunteers and guests. Her sparkly personality lit up every room she walked into, and her infectious laughter made every moment spent with her unforgettable. Sally had a unique way of making people feel seen and cherished, and her presence was a source of comfort and happiness for so many.
Today, we celebrate the lives of Roger and Sally, two individuals who embodied the spirit of Matthew’s House. Their love, generosity, and dedication to serving others will forever inspire us, and we will always remember them as beloved members of our family.
This wall stands in honour of Roger, Sally, and others who were key parts of our Matthew’s House family, a lasting tribute to their lives of service, the immeasurable joy they brought to our community, and the legacy of love and hospitality they leave behind to inspire us all.
