Swansea Big Sleepout 2025 Raises Over £40,000 to Support Homelessness and Mental Health in Swansea

As we reach the end of the financial year at Matthew’s House, we have been reflecting on one of the most powerful moments of the past year, the Swansea Big Sleepout 2025.

Held in partnership with Swansea City AFC Foundation at the Swansea.com Stadium, the night brought together over 100 people from across the city. People gave up their comfort for one night to stand in solidarity with those facing homelessness, raising both vital funds and awareness.

It was a deeply special evening.

Throughout the night, we heard real stories of struggle, resilience and hope. Stories that remind us why this work matters. Stories of people facing homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and the complex realities that lead people into crisis, as well as the challenges they face while trying to rebuild their lives.

One of the highlights we have been reflecting on recently is a visit from two Swansea City players, Andy Fisher and Josh Key. They took time to visit Matthew’s House, see the work first hand, and encourage both the team and those taking part in the Sleepout. Their support meant a great deal and helped shine a light on the importance of what is happening across the city.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of everyone involved, the event raised over £40,000, with over £20,000 supporting Matthew’s House and over £20,000 supporting the Swans Foundation.

These funds make a real and immediate difference.

They help us continue to operate sustainably and support, on average, around 120 people each day we are open. From food and practical support to advocacy, community and mental health care, this funding enables us to keep showing up for those who need it most.

We are incredibly thankful.

Thankful to the Swans Foundation for their partnership. Thankful to Andy Fisher, Josh Key and the wider Swansea City community for standing with us. Thankful to every single person who slept out, supported, donated and shared the message.

This is what happens when a city comes together with compassion and purpose.

Looking ahead, plans are already beginning for Swansea Big Sleepout 2026, launching in April. We are expectant for another impactful year and would love for even more people to get involved.
